About Austin
Keep Austin Zero-Emission
Austin has grown faster than almost any American city in the past decade, but the things that made it worth growing toward remain — the music scene, Barton Springs, the Colorado River winding through the heart of the city, and a genuine commitment to outdoor culture. The challenge is that Austin's growth has brought the traffic to match, which makes getting around in a conventional way increasingly frustrating.
The Colorado River's Town Lake is surrounded by the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail — 10 miles of continuous waterfront trail that's the city's most democratic public space. Electric kayak tours launch from multiple points along the lake and explore the wildlife corridor that exists improbably in the center of a major city. E-bike tours of South Congress, East Austin, and the Rainey Street entertainment district give visitors neighborhood context that a rideshare simply cannot provide.
Barton Creek Greenbelt, a limestone canyon system within the city limits, is accessible by e-bike and increasingly serviced by electric-assist trail experiences. The Texas Hill Country — wildflower country, wine country, swimming hole country — starts 30 minutes west and is ideal e-bike riding terrain. Keep Austin weird. And keep it clean.
